Folklor dan Peningkatan Pengalaman Wisata di Gunung Tangkuban Parahu

Hubungan timbal balik antara cerita rakyat Sangkuriang dengan Gunung Tangkuban Parahu tidak dapat dipisahkan. Kaitannya dengan pengembangan pariwisata di gunung tersebut adalah popularitas dari cerita rakyat Sangkuriang mampu meningkatkan daya tarik pengunjung ke Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Tangkuban Parahu. Beberapa wisatawan cenderung memiliki ketertarikan untuk mengetahui cerita yang melatarbelakangi tempat yang mereka kunjungi. Sehingga Sangkuriang sebagai folklor di Gunung Tangkuban Parahu dapat dijadikan modal dalam menghadapi tantangan yang dihadapi objek daya tarik wisata dalam menciptakan pengalaman wisata yang berkesan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berusaha mengeksplorasi penerapan folklor yang dilakukan di TWA Tangkuban Parahu dan korelasinya dengan pengalaman wisata yang berkesan. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian ini, penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian campuran. Data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui wawancara bersama beberapa informan. Pengamatan, studi pustaka dan pengkajian dokumentasi dilakukan untuk mengkonfirmasi keabsahan data. Sementara, data kuantitatif dikumpulkan melalui pendistribusian kuesioner terhadap responden yang telah dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelola TWA Tangkuban Parahu telah menerapkan folklor ‘Sangkuriang’ di beberapa tempat baik dalam bentuk simbol atau narasi. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa penerapan folklor berpengaruh positif dalam upaya meningkatkan pengalaman wisata berkesan, serta korelasi antara keduanya merupakan hubungan yang kuat yakni sebesar 75,9%.
