PENGARUH PERAWATAN PALIATIF TERHADAP PASIEN KANKER STADIUM AKHIR (LITERATURE REVIEW)

Abstract - One of the incurable diseases is cancer, Cancer is process to begin when abnormal cells transformed by genetic mutation of the cellular DNA. There are 4 stages, ie stage I, II, III, and IV. Consist of stage IV, patients are significantly decrease in the physical, social and spiritual. One of the treatments performed is palliative care. which is an important part of patient care that can be done at the terminal that simple. There are still few hospitals that implement palliative care for cancer patients because most only use curative. The method is used to review the literature of nursing, medicine, and public health from tahun1987 to 2013 using 15 journals related palliatie care and teori of cancer as reference palliative care. The results of the literature review showed that the Palliative Care effect on late-stage cancer patients. The conclusion obtained is that palliative care is very instrumental in achieving maximum quality of life in patients with stage IV cancer, thereby reducing pain or preparation for death.

Abstrak - Salah satu penyakit yang belum bisa disembuhkan adalah kanker, Kanker adalah proses yang bermula ketika sel abnormal diubah oleh mutasi genetic dari DNA seluler. Terdapat 4 stadium atau tahapan keganasan penyakit kanker, yaitu stadium I, II, III, dan IV. Pada pasien stadium IV terjadi penurunan yang signifikan didalam fisik, social dan spiritual. Salah satu nya paliatif yang merupakan bagian penting dalam perawatan pasien terminal yang dapat dilakuakan secara sederhana. Selama ini masih sedikit rumah sakit yang menerapkan perawatan paliatif untuk pasien kanker karena kebanyakan hanya menggunakan kuratif. Metode yang digunakan adalah mengulas literatur keperawatan, kedokteran, dan kesehatan masyarakat dari tahun1999 sampai 2013 dengan menggunakan 15 jurnal yang terkait perawatan paliatif dan konsep kanker sebagai referensi perawatan paliatif. Hasil ulasan literatur menunjukan bahwa Perawatan Paliatif berpengaruh terhadap pasien kanker stadium akhir. Kesimpulan yang didapatkan adalah bahwa perawatan paliatif amat berperan dalam tercapainya kualitas hidup maksimal pada pasien kanker stadium IV sehingga mengurangi sakit ataupun persiapan terhadap kematian.
