Author Guidelines

The editors accept manuscripts of articles, research results, or scientific works that have never been published in other media through the https://ejournal.bsi.ac.id/ejurnal/index.php/ecodemica page.

 A.  General Author Guidelines

Articles have never been published in other media and do not contain elements of plagiarism. A plagiarism-free statement can be included in the document signed by all authors and uploaded to the additional file (step 4). The statement can also be attached to the plagiarism check results.

The writing format is 1 column using A4 paper size (21x29.7cm). The text margin from the top is 4 cm, left 3cm, right and bottom 2.5 cm. Manuscripts are written in Microsoft Word, single-spaced, Times New Roman 10pt font, and a maximum of 12 pages.

The title of the article should be clear and informative, should describe the content and use as few words as possible. Avoid using overly long phrases such as “Study of...”, “Investigation of...”, “Implementation of...”, “Observation of...”, “Effect of...”, “Analysis. ..”, ‘Design...’, etc. The searchability of the article depends on the accuracy of the title; in addition, keywords should be relevant and reflect the content of the article.

Bibliography management and citation are done in APA style. The article is presented in a section structure: Introduction - Research Methods - Results and Discussion - Conclusion. Foreign language terms are written in italics.

Authors can use the literature review in the “Introduction” chapter to explain how the research is different from other articles, that the paper is a recent innovation. Suppose the research has high originality, proposes new methods or algorithms. In this case, an additional chapter after “Introduction” and before “Research Methods” can be added to briefly explain the proposed approach or algorithm. The Introduction chapter can also contain supporting theories of the proposed method to solve the problem or develop the technique based on explicit references (books, journals, proceedings, and other scientific articles).

 B.  Structure of the manuscripts

  1. Title. The title should be short, clear, and informative, but does not exceed 14 words. It has to be pinpoint with the issues that will be discussed. The article title does not contain any uncommon abbreviation. The main ideas should be written first and followed then by its explanations.
  2. Author's name and institution. The author's name should be accompanied by Department, Affiliation, City, Country, without academic degree and/or title.
  3. Abstract. The abstract writing format is written in one paragraph using English and is italicized and uses left and right alignment. Whereas the text from the Introduction to the Bibliography is made with a one-column model. The Abstract should be informative and completely self-explanatory, provide a clear statement of the problem, the proposed approach or solution, and point out major findings and conclusions. The Abstract should be 200 to 250 words in length. The abstract should be written in the past tense.
  4. Keywords. The keywords should be relevant and reflect the content of the article. The keyword list provides the opportunity to add keywords, used by the indexing and abstracting services, in addition to those already present in the title. Judicious use of keywords may increase the ease with which interested parties can locate our article
  5. Introduction. The introduction should describe a transparent background, a clear statement of the problem, the literature relevant to the subject, the proposed approach or solution, and demonstrate scientific novelty (state of the art) with a strong justification of the contribution
  6. Research Methodology. This section describes the chronology of the research, including the research design, research procedures (in the form of algorithms, Pseudocode or others), how the study was approached, data collection methods, and how the data was analyzed. The description of the research program must be supported by references, so that the explanation can be accepted scientifically
  7. Results and Discussion. This section emphasizes the new value of research that contains innovation and its implications. In this section, the results of the research are described, and at the same time, a comprehensive discussion is provided. Research results can be presented in the form of figures, graphs, tables, and so on, so that they are easily understood by readers. The discussion can be made in several sub-chapters.
Results and Discussion are written clearly and fulfill the aspects of scientific merit (elements of what/how?, why?, and what else). Research results begin with descriptive analysis, followed by inferential statistics. Compare your results with results from other studies: Are the results consistent? If not, discuss possible reasons for the difference.
  8. Tables and Figures are presented center. Tables should not be used as images the shape of the table uses a horizontal line design for the subtitle and the end of data entry. use high quality for images can use .png or .jpg format, Tables and Figures are titled using Table 1, Table 2, and so on. Or Figure 1, Figure 2, etc
  9. Conclusion. Conclusions should answer the objectives of the research and the research discoveries. The conclusions should not contain only the repetition of the results and discussions or abstract. You should also suggest future research and/or point out those that are underway.
A good conclusion should provide a statement that what is expected, as stated in the "Introduction" section can ultimately result in "Results and Discussion" section, so there is compatibility. Moreover, it can also be added the prospect of the development of research results and application prospects of further studies into the next (based on the results and discussion).
  10. Reference. Primary references are accredited international journals and national journals with DOI. All references should be the most relevant and up-to-date. References are written in APA style using Mendeley software. Each citation should be written in ascending order (A-Z).
