ABSTRACT
This study presents a bibliometric analysis of Wellness Tourism, a rapidly growing segment of the global travel industry that emphasizes health and well-being, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Analyzing 648 documents from 313 sources published between 2014 and 2024, the study seeks to identify trends, patterns, and gaps in the existing literature, providing insights for industry stakeholders and guiding future policies and practices. The study uses the R Square methodology to evaluate the relationship between various factors influencing the growth and development of wellness tourism, including consumer demand and destination characteristics. The findings reveal consumers’ prioritization of wellness during travel and highlight key destinations, especially India, known for its rich wellness traditions. Despite a -9.24% decline in the annual growth rate, the average citations per document showed a significant impact on the scientific discourse. The analysis identifies key themes, such as “Wellness Tourism,” “Wellness,” “Health Tourism,” “Medical Tourism,” and “Covid-19,” which show a strong association with health issues. Based on these findings, it is recommended that health tourism development policies prioritize the integration of health and medical services and collaboration between government and service providers. This review aims to create a strong scientific basis for effective policy formulation in the ever-evolving Wellness Tourism, contributing to the sustainable growth of the sector..
