PENGETAHUAN PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE II TENTANG PERAWATAN KAKI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS CIKUTRA BARU KECAMATAN CIBEUNYING KALER BANDUNG

The death rate due to gangrenous ulcers in patients with diabetes mellitus as much as 17% -32%, while the amputation rate ranges between 15-30%. Complications in foot have a high incidence and occurs because the lack of treatments and not effective preventive measures taken.This research aims to know the description of the knowledge of diabetes mellitus type II patients about foot care, type of this research is descriptive exploratory. Samples are taken by simple random sampling as many as 34 patients with diabetes mellitus type II in the working area of Cikutra Baru Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) Cibeunying Kaler District Bandung. Techniques of data collection by using questionnaire and the data processed by using the percentage distribution.The results of this research showed some respondents that is 17 respondents (50%) had good knowledge about foot care, a minority of respondents that is 12 respondents (35%) have sufficient knowledge and very few respondents that is 5 respondents (15%) have poor knowledge.The conclusions of this research is the knowledge of diabetes mellitus type II patients about foot care at Cikutra Baru Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) Cibeunying Kaler District is good.
