Abstract


Abstract - Impact of the use of natural resources is triggered because of the rapid development of technology in today's modern era. The Indonesian government vigorously implement various policies to conserve the use of resources which adversely affects the preservation of the environment. Green Computing is a program / policy to solve the problem using resources effectively and environmentally friendly. It will be able to reduce the consumption of resources that would threaten the preservation of the earth and reduce global warming. In this study will explain the benefits and application of green computing is good for education, the world of work as well as individual users. BSI AMIK Tegal as a private university in Central Java has implemented green computing in the entire academic campus ranging from saving power consumption by up reduction of paper usage.

Abstrak - Dampak penggunaan sumber daya alam dipicu karena pesatnya perkembangan teknologi di jaman modern saat ini. Pemerintah Indonesia giat menerapkan berbagai macam kebijakan untuk menghemat pemakaian sumber daya yang berakibat buruk pada kelestarian lingkungan hidup. Green Computing merupakan program/kebijakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah dengan menggunakan sumber daya secara efektif dan ramah lingkungan. Hal ini akan mampu mengurangi konsumsi sumber daya yang akan mengancam kelestarian bumi dan mengurangi global warming. Dalam penelitian ini akan dijelaskan manfaat dan cara penerapan green computing baik untuk dunia pendidikan, dunia kerja maupun pengguna individu. AMIK BSI Tegal sebagai perguruan tinggi swasta di Jawa Tengah telah menerapkan green computing di seluruh civitas akademika kampus mulai dari hemat penggunaan daya listrik hingga pengurangan penggunaan kertas.
