Abstract
In the globalization era, farmers should have strong independence and competitiveness.
They have to be able to manage their agribusiness to ensure product quality and
sustainable agribusiness. This study aimed to analyze factors related to farmer
independence in decision making on sustainable agribusiness in Sukaharja Village, Bogor
Regency. This study was conducted in Sukaharja Village, Bogor Regency, West Java
Province from November to December 2013. The approach used in this study was
descriptive-correlational. The research population consisted of 67 farmers, while the data
collection was conducted on census basis from the 67 farmers. The hypothesis was carried
out using analysis of Rank Spearman correlation test. The study result showed that the
important factors to which attention should be paid in an effort to improve the
independence level of the farmers in Sukaharja Village, Bogor Regency in decision making
for their agribusiness success were being active in searching for agribusiness-related
information and encouraging interaction with the extension officers.
